Why HVAC maintenance plans matter for Wasatch Front homeowners
Most homeowners do not buy an HVAC maintenance plan because they love maintenance. They buy one because they want fewer surprises from one of the most expensive systems in the house.
In Utah, that system works hard in both directions. Air conditioners carry long, dry summer afternoons. Furnaces carry cold winter nights. Filters also deal with dust, wildfire smoke, inversion season, pets, remodeling debris, and ordinary household life.

Maintenance can help a system run cleaner, safer, and more efficiently. It can reveal weak parts, clogged drains, airflow restrictions, and neglected filters.
It cannot guarantee that nothing will ever break. It also cannot turn an old, undersized, or poorly installed system into a new one. The honest version is better: maintenance reduces avoidable risk.
Questions to ask before joining a plan

- Are additional systems priced separately?
- Are filters included or only inspected?
- Do members receive service-call discounts?
- Will I receive written service records?

What Air Design publishes about its plan
Air Design's public maintenance agreement page describes an annual program at $220 for furnace and air conditioner service twice per year. It also lists additional systems at $110 each and says the program includes exclusive pricing and discounts on future service calls.
For new homeowners, the same page points to equipment registration and says registering new equipment within 60 days of closing can extend a standard 5-year parts warranty to 10 years. That is a useful reason to ask for written service records and warranty guidance instead of treating maintenance as just another seasonal chore.
